The History of Wool Scarves and Knitting Techniques

by dyn shun 20 Nov 2022

The ancestors of our ancient human beings, those winning animal skins were given to those worthy of recognition as prizes. That is to say, the appearance of the scarf product is not only for the physical needs of keeping warm, but for spiritual comfort and encouragement. Of course, the animal skins at any time should have been unprocessed, still bloody and rough.

Modern scarves are textiles used for cold and dust proof decoration such as scarves, shawls and Baotou. With cotton, silk, wool and chemical fibers as raw materials. There are three processing methods: weaving, knitting and hand-knitting. According to the shape of the fabric, it is divided into two categories: square scarves and long scarves.

If a square scarf is cut diagonally, it becomes a triangle scarf after sewing. There are plain color, color grid and printing varieties. In order to make the hand feel soft, the stripes are clear and durable, most of the woven squares use plain, twill or satin weave. The warp and weft of silk square scarves are usually 20~22 denier mulberry silk or chemical fiber silk, mainly white woven, and the silk blank is refined, dyed or printed. The texture is light, thin and transparent, soft and smooth to the touch, and the weight is between 10 and 70 g/m2. The squares that are suitable for the spring and autumn seasons include satin plaid, twill and other varieties.

The long scarf has spikes at both ends, and the spikes must have weaving spikes, packing spikes and twist spikes. There are plain weave, twill weave, honeycomb and heavy warp weave. Both woven and knitted scarves have brushed scarves, which are made by pulling the towel blank through a wire raising machine or a prickly fruit raising machine.

Wool scarves can also be milled to achieve a plump and tight texture. The warp and weft of silk long scarves are mostly 20/22 denier mulberry silk or 120 denier bright rayon, and the weft silk is often twisted. The silk blanks have been dyed, printed, painted, embroidered, etc., with realistic flower patterns as the main ones.

The society is developing, the population is increasing, people's demand for scarves is increasing, and the processing of scarves is also very delicate. Even if we wear real animal skins, we will go through many processing procedures, and we will no longer feel that kind of scarf. The blood of the beast itself. And the development of human civilization does not allow us to kill many beasts. They are no longer objects of human conquest, but objects of our protection.

And the animal print scarves that our fashion people like to wear are no longer real fur, but have evolved into very soft materials such as silk and cashmere. And the animal pattern is just a form, that is, only the pattern of the animal pattern is retained. The style of the scarf is matched with the clothing to make it feel very fashionable.
